About Us

Patricia is a certified (NDTF-Australia) Dog Trainer & Owner Coaching Consultant with a passion for animals, education and teaching. After a many years in the corporate world, she finally decided to finally pursue her passion and start Dog Minds NZ in 2018.
Our goal is to help dogs & owners live a happier life together in our modern world.

We help owners address and troubleshoot specific issues and everyday problems by focusing on the foundations and natural communication with their dog. We don't believe that dog training and behaviour modification is just about making our dog more obedient nor is it just about the dog. In fact, the most integral part of the training process is the human side of it. That’s why we work with the owners to make sure their training plan fits their lifestyle and is tailored to what they need, focusing on an integrated approach based on respect, understanding, communication and obedience.

We believe in real life “everyday training” of our dogs and we are passionate about ensuring that dogs have an opportunity to live their best life and embrace their inner canine, so we help owners better understand their dog's true nature. We see dogs as those foreign best mates / life companions that we choose to share our lives with but who need our help to understand how our crazy world works and what is expected of them. We like to see things from a positive perspective and we definitely enjoy celebrating the small achievements in life and in our training.

​We are passionate about educating people and training dogs and our mission is to work effectively with humans to help their dogs live a happy and well balanced life. 

We use gentle and education-based  training methods and follow a more scientific approach as we value the relationship and the needs of the dog and human more than just focusing on obedience.
